We are part of the sacred creation. And although we make the journey alone to return here to earth through the portal of our mother, we depart from the Spirit realm, after soul consultation for our return to earth. There and here, we are surrounded by spiritual family from the seen and the unseen.There are the realms of
the Masters, the Angels, the Way Showers, the Guides, the Saints, the Mystics,
the Nature Spirits, the Animal Allies, the Ancestors.
We are never alone here on the earth. We live in a circle of air, water, fire, earth.These elemental companions offer us relationship and connection. They can show us, guide us, teach us how to be in the rhythms of life where change is constant. Touch remembering of how a walk or ride thru the forest or along a seashore is immediately restorative. Consider the comfort and healing balm of sitting by a fire. Feel the sacred breath move in and out of your body. Right here is an introduction to the world we share.
Like the Beatles sang, " You get by with a little help from your friends." First comes ah...wakening to this truth. Then comes setting the intention to communicate with them. That is the beginning of starting any physical realm relationship. It is no different with the spirit realm of having relationships. Once you meet in the inner realm, that contact and connection is birthed for the outer realm of daily life. Like any relationship however, it needs contact to grow and be nurtured.
The Wizard of Oz is the vision quest story of Dorothy's leaving home and setting up on her quest. She meets traveling companions along the way to support her journey and to help guide her along the way. This is each of our story.
Dorothy is accompanied by her loyal dog Toto. Some of us have animal companions called pets. All of us have animal guides called our power animal or ally.
They are Servers, offering us Help, Protection, Wisdom,
Understanding, Teachings, Advice, Guidance, Healing.
As a spiritual, soul healer, I work with the medicine helper Mudgekeewus.I was first introduced to him by the late Chippewa author, visionary Sun Bear. It was Sun Bear who brought me the gift of understanding the realm of allies available to assist, guide, help, illumine, heal our journey. It was Sun Bear who offered that the Spirit World is always awake and inviting us to wake up and pay attention.
Because of my connection to Sun Bear and my intention to heal my life so I can be a guide for others, I now ally and align with the medicine that the Bear offers. Sun Bear told the story of how the Bear took on the illnesses of all of the animal people to learn about how to heal. Bear medicine includes the qualities of looking deep within, to the inner cave of mind, heart, body, spirit. It includes patience, strength and the willingness to enjoy the sweets of life. Consider how bears love honey, berries and fish !

to meet your animal ally, in the indigeneous and mainstream culture called a power animal.
As a guide on vision quests, when a questor returns from being out along on the earth, he has a story to share of what happened that includes who came. This who may be an ant, an eagle, a butterfly, the wind, or another visitor. This is making a connection with an animal or elemental ally. More effective than someone telling you who your power animal or animal guide or ally is is for you to make the journey with the intention of meeting them. The way Sun Bear put it is then you begin a relationship, just like you do with another human being, making a date to meet. I can guide you into such a meeting to begin and to establish communication, so that you birth a new and nourishing relationship.
Each animal and creature carries its own medicine.
Medicine refers in this way to what strenthens, sustains, feeds and grows you.
Horse is about life force energy and taking the reins of your life. You can call on a particular medicine to assist and be a guide for you at different times on your journey. Horse came to me after a rape like experience in this life and companioned me to learn how to get back in the saddle and ride forward, first to a lawyer, then into court, then into moving forward.
Lady Liberty is considered our American Goddess. She could come in for you to assist with issues of setting yourself free and of reclaiming your power.
One of the guides who came to me on a guided journey is shown below, Glinda from the Wizard of Oz. As a child the Oz books were my favorites, so I was delighted to have her arrive in my adult life. Glinda is always a source of loving, attentive encouragement, reminding me too of the power of wishing and believing.
Guides can be from any Realm and are always connected with wanting your Best and Highest.
